The “Contemporary Issues in Sports Law 2011” conference, the third such event arranged by BASL/De Montfort University (“DMU”), was very well supported with in excess of 80 delegates attending. Delegates at these conferences comprise solicitors from regional law firms, sports law academics and students from a variety of Midlands/Northern universities together with representatives from the sports industry and governing bodies located out of London. The format was similar to previous years with two discrete panel sessions each comprising three speakers drawn from the governing bodies, private practice and the academic community.

This is the premier BASL “out of London” event and forms an integral part of the BASL regional community.

A date for your diaries: the 4^th mini conference – “Contemporary Issues in Sports Law 2012” will be held in Leicester on the afternoon of Friday 2 November 2012.
