Also in attendance was a member of the Loughborough University Institute of Sports Policy with whom the DMU Sports Law Unit have forged strong links.
The Conference kicked of with a rousing and good natured Keynote Address in which David Sparkes, Chief Executive of British Swimming, shared some of his experiences (good and bad) with sports lawyers!!
Members of the DMU Law School Debra Brown and Martin Morgan Taylor gave very strong presentations on, respectively, the Governmental Review of the Ofcom Broadcasting of Listed Events and the prospective impact of Light Pollution laws on sports stadium development, The Conference concluded with contributions from leading sports lawyer, Jason Smith, talking about sports sponsorship and a very thought provoking talk about global and national trends in sports governance from Darren Bailey, FA Director of Football Governance and Regulation.
