Mini Conference hosted by DMU on 6th November

DMU will be hosting a half-day conference in Leicester on 6th November 2009, entitled "Contemporary Issues in Sports Law and Practice".  It will explore key topics in this rapidly changing arena which will include a key note address from David Sparkes,  the Chief Executive of British Swimming/the ASA,  on the challenges facing sporting governing bodies.

 

Other confirmed speakers include:

 Darren Bailey, FA Director of Football Governance and Regulation who will provide an insight into National and Global trends in sports governance.

Ian Lynam, Associate, Charles Russell LLP who will analyse the challenges Governing Bodies face with “rebel leagues”.

Jason Smith, Partner, Brabners, Chaffe Street LLP who will look at developments in the law and practice relating to sports sponsorship.

Debra Brown, Senior Lecturer De Montfort Law School with an update on the revamping of the Offcom list of sporting events.
